First off, for those who haven't seen yet, a few people *have* taken up my challenge and written some things inspired by katerina's absolutely gorgeous Draco-in-rope-bondage art.

Meanwhile, about two years ago, when I was writing a LOT of fic, almost (but not all) Draco-centric, there was one night I was working on a Snape/Harry story, and Draco got a bit jealous. What resulted was not, strictly speaking, a fic, so it's not in my master list. But someone brought up muses recently and, well, I thought some of you would enjoy a reprise of the tale of what happened the night I got A Visit From My Muse.

I have no idea who wrote the fic for me at hp_summermut, but it feels rather like they totally stalked my journal and wrote the most wonderful piece of plotty, smutty Drapery!

The fic is long, but it doesn't feel long at all, it speeds by. I'm trying to think of what I can say that won't be too spoilery. The story feels a lot like if you took Deathly Hallows and all the things I really WISHED were in the book instead of what's there, that's what this is. The characters of Draco, Severus, and Harry are wonderful, and the writing is quite nice, and I don't say that lightly! Draco is so in character when he goes off onto worries about things and looking for plots and hidden meanings in everything, which of course when it's Severus he's usually right. Wonderful Slytherin/Slytherin/Gryffindor dynamics.

Oh, and did I mention the sex is lovely, too? Much brain-melting wonderfulness.

1. What was the first fic you ever wrote? (picture you drew, manip/vid you made - sub in your form of expression for all questions).

The first HP fic I wrote was around the time the second movie came out. I've never posted it in my journal, though I've decided if the pornish_pixies comm ever returns to LJ, I'll post it there. (It's called "Potions Lesson," and it's Snape/Harry, NC-17).


2. What's your most recent work?

I just finished posting my 3 part Drapery/Snarco fic, "Whoever Keeps Me" at hp_tarot.

3. What do you think you're best at (genre, style, theme)?

I think I'm best at the dark angst with lots of sex, or maybe it just seems that way because it seems hard to do well for most people. (Then again, comedy is really hard, too...!) I am good at looking at things unafraid and unrepressed, which gives me a lot of freedom to write. I'm also good at defining the difference between consensual and nonconsensual in fic, and getting people who "don't like" or "don't read" BDSM fics to really enjoy mine.

4. What would you like to be better at?

Saying thank you. So when it comes to fic, I guess I wish I was better at responding to comments. I often feel like all I can say is "thank you" and it feels inadequate...!

5. Which of your works do you think best represents you as a writer/artist?

Burning Day is probably pretty representative. A mixture of plottiness and sexiness, with a dash of suffering, and the possibility for true love always there under it all, no matter how much trouble there is. That description fits a LOT of my fics.

6. What's your favourite story you've ever written (picture you've ever drawn etc)?

Ohhh, that's hard. I still have a serious soft spot for Amnesia among my H/D fics, but The Rematch, which was a Snaco fic I wrote for my very first gift exchange fest (merry smutmas!) is still way up there.


7. What's your favourite scene/chapter you've ever written?

It still has to be the "Moroccan Night of Passion" in Tempus. If you haven't read the fic yet, it's what happens right AFTER Harry and Draco go flying...
